Today would have been your 93rd birthday
Although we can’t see you, we have plenty to say
We’d like to wish you a happy birthday for today
We’ll raise you a glass in your honour, come what may

I wish we could come and visit you still, with presents you would love
Socks, slippers, shirts and a bottle of Remi which you can drink up above
Instead, we’ll be together with our thoughts and memories of you
We’ll talk to you as if you were here, and we’ll try not to be blue

So, whatever you’re doing in heaven, we hope you’re being treated fair
We hope you’ve found your friends and family up there
Until we meet again dad, I guess we’ll say “goodnight”
We look forward to seeing you again when the time is right
