Feeling Unsafe
It’s not safe in the world when you go out on your own
Men can’t be trusted, previous history has shown
They were supposed to be professionals and treat you fair
What they put me through has been a total nightmare
Even now I struggle with an authoritarian figure
A doctor or a policeman can cause me a trigger
Maybe I deserved what they did to me
Why else would I be violated to this degree?
I must have done something wrong
I was so weak and they were so strong
So how do you keep yourself safe out there?
You could ask people, but most don’t care
They think you’re at fault for all of this
That you should “move on”, live your life in bliss
I wish it was that easy, they don’t understand
Why don’t they listen, hold out a helping hand?
At the end of the day, it is down to you
You have to do what you need to, to make it through
Professionals may say “don’t do that”
But they don’t have a clue, that is a fact
They haven’t been in your shoes, even for a minute
Small things can make you push yourself to your limit
S
o do what you need to do, that’s the only way
If it works, that’s great, that’s what I say
