Farewell To My Care Co-ordinator

You’ve supported me for quite a few years
Through all the stress, anxiety and fears
You put up with me no matter what
You deserve a medal but that’s not what you got
Instead you got me, panicky and confused
I’d understand if you weren’t always amused

You gave me the strength to go to the police that day
We are still to learn if he is going to pay
Whatever the outcome, you were there by my side
Helping me focus, try to take it in my stride

You’ll be the first to admit your timekeeping was poor!
I’d often be waiting for your knock on the door
But what is important is I totally trusted you
With your support I managed to get through

We joked about you not having your phone
That I was unable to contact you to have a moan
It often needed charging or you’d lose it somewhere
But you’d still manage to contact me, showed me you care

I am so grateful for everything you have done
You’ve been brilliant, taught me to smile and have fun
What will I do without you being there?
I need to open up, of that I am aware
